Honda Accord Cadillac ATS and Fusion car of the year nominees

 Nearly fifty journalists from Canada and the United States three vehicles selected as candidates for election as the North American Car of the Year.

This is the twentieth edition this award unique in that it is delivered by a coalition of news media, including radio, television, magazines, newspapers and Internet sites.

Fusion

The three finalists were chosen over a list that included the BMW 3 Series, Chevrolet Malibu, Dodge Dart, Lincoln MKZ, Nissan Altima, Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ and the Toyota Avalon. To be elected the car must be brand new or changed in any substantial way.

ATS

New for this year, it was decided to rename the award North American Truck of the Year by the North American Truck / Utility to reflect the tremendous growth of the crossover market. The finalists of this trio are the Ford C-Max, the Mazda CX-5 and the Ram 1500.

Winners will be announced on 14 January at the Detroit Auto Show.
